Paul Kemp FCCA – Director

Paul graduated as a Chartered Certified accountant in 1993 and became one of the founding members of JKT in 1995. Paul's portfolio of clients include numerous owner-managed businesses and private and corporate tax clients, many of which he has looked after for over 30 years. Paul has extensive experience in most areas of corporate life, ranging from complex business structures down to personal services companies and one-man entities. Specialties include corporate profit extraction strategy, business tax planning, company restructuring and of course, general practice. Paul has also assisted numerous clients with the successful sale of their companies.

Andrew Johnstone FCCA – Director

Andrew Johnstone joined the company in 1998 and graduated as a Chartered Certified accountant in 2004. In 2011 he became a director and shareholder and works alongside Paul in the day-to-day management and development of the Practice.

Andrew has extensive experience in all aspects of accountancy and taxation on both a corporate and personal level with a large portfolio of clients across numerous sectors.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys playing golf, following his children around Sussex at weekends watching them play football and a nice bottle of Red. He is also a keen supporter of Liverpool FC.

Matthew Poole FCCA – Senior Accountant and Client Manager

Matthew graduated as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2004. He joined JKT in 2018 with a wide experience within the practice and commercial sectors.

He specialises in providing accountancy and taxation services for small and medium sized businesses, together with personal tax planning and advice.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys running and although has “hung up his boots” is a keen supporter of AFC Bournemouth.

Ray Tooley FCCA – Accountant and Tax Specialist

Former director and one of the founding members of JKT, Ray took a step back from the practice in 2011 with semi-retirement but continues to service a large number of clients, many of whom he has looked after for over 30 years.

He is a highly experienced accountant and tax advisor with considerable expertise in trust matters, complex personal tax and advising owner-managed businesses on day-to-day accountancy and tax issues.

Outside of work Ray is a voluntary tour guide at Polesden Lacey and enjoys walking, tennis and ballroom dancing.

Michele Nunn FCCA MAAT – Senior Accountant and Client Manager

Michele has spent her entire working career in practice, having graduated as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1998. She was a key member of the team at the inception of JKT in 1995.

She offers a broad range of accountancy services covering all aspects of tax and accounts production for a wide variety of business types and sizes. Michele also looks after a number of charities, estates and trusts, and has assisted many clients with their transition into cloud accounting packages.

Outside of work, Michele is a self-confessed chocoholic and her interests include travel, painting, voluntary work and outdoor activities.

Stuart Betts FCCA – Senior Accountant and Client Manager

Stuart joined the JKT team in June 2021 as a newly qualified accountant and now looks after a wide variety of clients providing the full range of accountancy services to owner-managed businesses and private tax clients.

Outside of work, Stuart plays roller derby, enjoys looking after his two cats and is a true motorbike enthusiast.

Mina Gingell FCA – Senior Accountant and Client Manager

Mina qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007 and has since built a wealth of experience supporting a wide range of clients. She has developed a particular specialism in working with owner-managed businesses, offering practical advice and tailored solutions that help her clients grow with confidence. Her strong technical expertise, combined with a down-to-earth approach, makes her a trusted adviser to many long-term clients.

Mina takes pride in building lasting relationships and making accountancy accessible and straightforward. She has an in-depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping software packages, ensuring that clients can make the most of the latest tools to streamline their finances and stay on top of their business needs.

Outside of work, Mina enjoys an active lifestyle and loves spending time outdoors. She also enjoys exploring new places through travel and is keen foodie.

Robert Hearn ACCA – Senior Accountant

Robert joined JKT in October 2023, having completed his AAT qualification and has brought experience in preparing accounts for SMEs across a range of industries.

He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2025 and looks after a wide range of clients dealing with all aspects of their accountancy and taxation requirements.

Robert has a degree in French and Business Management and enjoys foreign travel and culture. 

Caroline Sherlock FCCA, MAAT – Senior Accountant

Caroline joined the JKT team in January 2018 having spent 4 years working in practice.

She qualified as an Accounting Technician in 2008 and went on to graduate as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2013.

Caroline’s specialist area is cloud accounting. She has been a Xero Certified Advisor since 2013 and enjoys helping clients to get the most from technology.

Outside of work she looks after 4 rescue cats and her interests include running, keeping fit and gardening.

William Johnstone – Trainee Accountant

William joined JKT as a trainee accountant in September 2025 and assists the accounting and bookkeeping departments whilst studying for his ACCA exams.

Outside of work, William enjoys learning more about his degree subjects, history and politics, as well as practising Spanish and watching sport with friends.

Debbie Steenhuis – Payroll Manager

Debbie joined JKT in 2000 having gained extensive office management and accounting experience working for owner-managed businesses.

She assumed full responsibility for managing the firms payroll department and works alongside Jacky ensuring that all necessary deadlines are met and clients remain fully compliant in this constantly changing environment.

Debbie also looks after a number of the firms bookkeeping clients and assists with the preparation of year end accounts.

Outside of work, Debbie enjoys reading, dancing and walking.

Jacky Packham – Payroll Manager

Jacky has also been a valued member of the team since the inception of JKT in 1995 when she headed up the Tax department. After a career break for family, Jacky returned to us in a payroll capacity and now manages the weekly and monthly payroll obligations for many of the practice’s payroll clients.

Jacky’s interests include game nights with family and friends, as well as dog walking and theatre trips.

Anooska Nobee MAAT – Accounts Technician

Anooska joined JKT in 2008 and qualified as an Accounts Technician in 2014.

Her main roles within the business include bookkeeping and preparation of accounts as well as VAT and Tax Returns for various small and medium sized businesses in a wide range of sectors.

She is experienced in a variety of accounting software packages to include Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.

Outside of work, Anooska enjoys travel, is a complete foodie, movie enthusiast and loves spending time with her family.

Becky Mist – Bookkeeper

Having spent 3 years working as a finance manager and the previous 14 years working with a successful bookkeeping company, Becky joined the JKT team at the end of 2021.

She is experienced in multi-currency bookkeeping with ERP software, has extensive Sage knowledge, and is also experienced in multiple cloud-based packages. Becky is a Xero qualified advisor.

Outside of work Becky enjoys spending time with her family, walking the dog, socialising and travelling.

Melissa Jacob - Bookkeeper

Melissa joined the team in 2025 having successfully run her own accountancy and bookkeeping company for 15 years, with an 11 year career in practice before that. She has extensive experience in accounts preparation for small and medium sized businesses. A Xero qualified adviser, her main role at JKT is the provision of bookkeeping and VAT support to a wide range of our clients.

Outside of work Melissa loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys travelling and exploring art galleries, and has a passion for collage art.

Tracy Thomas – Bookkeeper and Payroll Assistant

Following an extensive professional background and experience covering various industries and sectors to include legal and insurance, Tracy joined JKT in March 2021.

She provides bookkeeping and payroll support to a wide range of clients in addition to providing secretarial support for the team.

Outside of work Tracy enjoys dog walks with the family, watching documentaries and travelling.

Susie Kemp – Secretary

As wife of founding director Paul, Susie has been closely involved with JKT since it was established in 1995, providing support and encouragement throughout JKT’s growth and success.

Susie supports the directors in a secretarial capacity and assists with office administration duties.

Outside of work, Susie enjoys travel, spending time with her family and all things Christmas.

Emily Johnstone – Secretary

Emily joined the team 2019 though as the wife of the director Andrew, she has been closely involved for many years (not through choice !).

Emily supports the directors in a secretarial capacity and assists with office administration duties.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys cruising the seas, walking the family dog and watching Liverpool FC with her obsessed husband and children.
